Not Sugarcoated Chocolates.

Chocolates, that sweet delicacy that is so magically good, also used as an idiom: 'chocolate of my life'. Which means an essential part of one's life (true that, imagine a chocolate-less life! A complete catastrophe it is). On the contrary, despite the sparkling sugar coating of chocolates I've just found out the bitter truth that lies within those sweet treats.

I've recently read an article which more or less discusses on how less than 5% of the world's cocoa supply is ethically certified to have been made without forced or children labour. How there's now a move on making cocoa producers more ethical. How we're reminded to always buy chocolates with a logo that says it is ethically certified.

It actually bewilders me, how something can be that ambiguous and contradictory. Chocolates which I know as children's best companion, is actually the definition of hours and hours of fatigue for some unfortunate kids in West Africa -- 'How things are not what they seem,' they say.

After a moment of research, I have found out that this issue is actually true. The author, Tim Costello is proven to be the actual CEO if the World Vision Australia, which in my opinion is a pretty reputable position. BUT it is undeniable that this article is through one man's glasses and that a few of its facts were modified. Why? To weave strands of sympathy with our hearts. Nevertheless, the main story of the article is a legitimate fact. End thoughts? It's quite credible.

According to my way of seeing, the author was at an utter disbelief when he first came across the fact behind this issue. He believes that this immorality should be stopped and can be stopped. He provided solutions which indicates that he wants us to step up, join in and help.

In my perspective, I do believe that children should be given the opportunity to be children. After all, our childhood does play a big part on who we WILL be, right? No one deserves to be exploited, especially young, innocent minds. So, how can we help? Sign a petition which will gradually catches the attention of unethical cocoa producers (this has been proven successful on 'Hershey's Chocolates') and be selective during your chocolate shopping time. The littlest things will mount up to be big things in the end.

Never work a day in your life.

What crosses my mind when I close my eyes and try to picture my future?
Nothing.

Yes, my little self had many visions once, being a teacher, a doctor, a designer and so on. My little self was probably more imaginative than the present me. Against all odds, this is actually a very common problem for youngsters like us.

First things first, why did I decide on such a topic? Because the indecisiveness upon our future is what has been discussed perpetually amongst a gazillion of my friends. People just can't seem to set their minds straight and whenever we have set a one way track for our future, another road keeps coming up and the previous one way track turned out to be a thousand way track. This, my friend, is what boggles every youngsters' minds, are our hormones that unstable to have make us this indecisive?

In my (humble) opinion, I do think that we don't make definite decisions because we are afraid. Afraid of making the wrong decision and thus decide to not make any decision at all. Another problem is that we have not yet found the thing we take heart in. The thing that triggers every part of our being. The missing puzzle of our relatively monotonous youth.

It is best for us to thoroughly contemplate about this first, in what do i find passion in? I'm sure that through time, the right answer will come. Don't wait too long though, you may think that it's still years to go but believe me, time is ticking away at light speed. If you want it then go get it, seek for it. Nothing is ever gonna come to you by itself. Seek the answer, do your best and have faith in God. After all, everything is again in His will.
My solution? Do what you love, what you have passion in and what you would want to spend the rest of your life doing.

As a famous saying goes:
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” -Confucius.
In the future I would like to be able to say that,
"I am doing a job I love and I have never work a single day in my life."

Don't you do too? :)

Super Internet

Everyone needs to pour  out their heart's contents. Like those times, when all you do is tap your feet and let anxiety eat you up as you just cannot wait a second more to tell your best friends about the latest gossips and stories. We gain contentment and lightheartedness from telling our story, from being heard. One media that I have found very useful for this matter is a blog.

Blogging has been my safe haven, it has help me to share my thoughts for the better. It's a truckload of fun, having people read your thoughts, hear, recognize and speak to you. Your own interactive journal.

Blogging equals to the internet. The Super Internet, yep. It has seriously beat the guts out of Superman or Spiderman or whatever. The internet epidemy of our generation is unstoppable, our studies have also been hugely affected by the ease and simplicity that the internet seems to have dangling on its sides. Type your desired keyword and in a glitz all the answers from every corner of the world pop up! How simple, easy and NOT time-consuming is that? At most times, you will find my eyes caught at a laptop screen be it for research or just plain leisure. Admit it, we're on the same boat, right? ;)

Hold your gears though, nothing is ever completely good or bad and so are the information you find on the web. Avoid websites with unknown or single authors, single author means single point of view which equals to biases. Glue yourself to webs with reputable domains, org, govt, edu, and country codes or famous ones like the N.Y Times. Do take your time on verifying the credibility of websites, it is the element of any brilliant school work ;)

All this sums up to the internet being the chocolate to my life, not a day goes by without it. With the inhumanely rapid development of technology the internet will be an even bigger part of our future. The internet seems to be an addiction in our school life and I believe will be too in our university life.  Universities have research paper tasks the size of Mt. Everest and without the internet, prepare to dig your own funeral, and that is why I do think that the internet will greatly affect my university life. So, a penny on your thoughts? ;)
